Welcome to the Blue Sheet – your weekly update on all things marching band. It is evident that my formatting of this document is not translating well into CHARMS – so I am attaching it as a PDF so you can see how I format it each week and maybe prefer to see it this way.

FRIDAY FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

3:30 – Show Shirts/Shorts and meet section leaders

4:00 – Report to stadium and continue to work with section leaders/warmup

            * bring large cases and battery stands to stadium

4:15 – Set for Chart 1 and Review show in Chunks

4:45 – RUNTHROUGH

5:00 – Load Truck at Stadium

5:15 – Dinner

5:50 – Change to Half-Uniform

6:05 – Load buses and depart to Johns Creek

6:45 – Arrive and Enter Stadium

** No performance tonight – stands band

11:00 – Approximate Return to Cambridge – look for texts from students

SATURDAY (OCTOBER 19TH) SCHEDULE

• Guard wear neon yellow for practice – Winds and Percussion in White (Under-uniform)

8:30 – Rehearsal in Stadium (DO NOT BE LATE – HELP EACH OTHER)

10:30 - truck loading at stadium

11:30 - lunch (full meal)

12:30 – depart for Gordon Central HS

2:00 – Unload/Stretch

3:00 - Warmup

4:00 – PERFORM!

Students will need to bring money for concessions dinner after performance.

8:30 – Awards

10:30 – Approximate Return to Cambridge

LOOKING AHEAD

Please check the band calendar as some rehearsal commitments have been changed for the end of the year schedule. Stay on top of band events by following that google calendar and get notified of changes and updates.

Georgia State Contest – October 26th

8:15 AM – Meet section leaders/change to half-uniform

8:45 AM – Load buses to travel to GSU (truck will remain loaded from the night before)

9:45 AM – Arrive GSU/Breakfast provided to students/unload/stretch

11:20 AM – Scheduled Warmup Time

12:30 PM – PERFORMANCE

12:45 PM – Load truck/change to half-uniform/snack/return to stadium

2:15 PM – GSU PERFORMANCE

2:45 PM – Awards

4:30pm - Student Social!

5:00pm - Panther Walk (GSU Band plays for football team entry)

5:30pm - Stadium Gates Open

6:40pm - Panther Band Pre-Game Performance!

7:00pm - Football Game kick-off

 *Students should bring money for concessions!

8:30pm - approx. halftime performance

9:15pm - approx. departure

10:00pm - approx. return to Cambridge, unload trailer, dismissal

SENIOR NIGHT – NOVEMBER 8TH

We celebrate our seniors at the final home football game vs. Alpharetta on November 8th. Seniors will receive a form to complete to announce them and their parent escorts at pregame of that game. The rest of the band will assemble in the stands for this ceremony and play the alma mater and fight song for our graduating seniors. Senior parents will receive a digital copy of this form in the next week as well. Hard to believe we are talking senior night already – make the most of the end of this season of Lunacy!

WORTH REPEATING

Please continue to communicate absences and reasons – unexcused absences can result in missing a performance and/or loss of PE Credit and a Varsity Letter in Marching Band. We only have 5 rehearsals left before our final contest at GSU on October 26th!!
