Hello Cambridge Band Family,

It’s a Show Week!! A short week was FILLED with exciting events for the Cambridge Band. I wanted to send a quick shout out to our Cambridge High School Jazz Combo. This group absolutely KNOCKED their performance at the Omni Hotel (CNN Center) for the National Consortium of Board of Education. They performed for a room full of board of education members, met members of our school board, and met our Superintendent, Dr. Looney! This was a GREAT experience for the jazz students and for Cambridge Band. I’ve attached a couple of photos from the day to this email if you’d like to check it out!

Rehearsal Schedule:

Monday, September 12th - 4:00pm - 6:30pm (Adjusted for College Fair)

Wednesday, September 14th - 4:00pm - 6:30pm

Friday, September 16th - 4:00pm - 7:00pm

This week we have TWO stadium rehearsals (Wednesday, and Friday). We would LOVE to have as many people to perform for during these days as we prepare for FCMBE!

Please note** we are ending rehearsal early on Monday for students who are planning to attend the College Fair at Cambridge HS. We understand that the college fair begins at 5:30pm, however, our Senior/Junior population is 60% of the marching program. We would not be able to continue rehearsing once the seniors and juniors depart. Cutting our rehearsal short by 1hr and 30min the week of the exhibition is not the best option for our student’s success. We believe ending at 6:30pm and allowing those students to depart to attend the last hour of the fair will be a beneficial compromise for all. Those who have put in early departure forms will be able to depart at 6:30pm.

Volunteer Needs:

We are need of immediate volunteers for this week’s Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition. There is a spot for EVERYONE! Our band goal is for each family to get at least 5 volunteer experiences throughout the year and we’d love for you to consider this Saturday to be one of those events. If you are not able to donate your time, please consider donating a few items for the concession stand, or performance dinners! THANK YOU to the folks who came out to help with Saturday Prop day. Everything is looking AMAZING and the show is beginning to come to life! We have more to come, however, we are extremely excited about the progress!


A detailed email about the Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition has been sent earlier this evening.

Absence/Tardy/Early Departure Form:

We understand that absences, tardies, and early departures will occur throughout the season. We have released our schedule to each family as soon as possible to alleviate the need for a student to miss a rehearsal/performance, however, if the need arises, early communication is essential. Absences that are not an emergency must be recorded 2 weeks in advanced to be considered excused and planned tardies/early departures must have 2 days notice. Completion of the form does not constitute an excused absence. Examples of excused absences would be sickness, COVID-19 quarantines, or COVID related symptoms, deaths, or other pre-discussed events. Unexcused absences will result in students needing to make up the performance experience, or could result in loss of performance opportunities.

Upcoming Important Information:

~The Chocolate Fundraiser continues - Each student has received their first box of World’s Finest Chocolate. Once a student has sold their 1st box, a family can elect for $25 from each additional box to go towards each students BOA Orlando Trip, or Concert Only Fees. Chocolate Fundraiser will end September 30th.

~BOA Orlando Trip Payment #2 Due on or before October 1st.

~September 17th - Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition

~September 20th - Ensemble Premiere Concert (Wind Ensemble)- 7pm
